The Institute, benefits from the following:
The Institute has full membership of the European Association for Distance Learning (EADL) and abides by its code of practice.
The Confederation of Scottish Counselling Agencies (COSCA) was instituted in 1990 by the Scottish Office to act as a training and service provider. The Institute is an Organisational Member as is registered in the Educational Institutions/Organisations Constituency.
The Institute is an Organisational Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). We therefore abide by its Code of Ethics and Practice for Counsellors and Supervisors.
The Institute is a member of the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC).
The Institute of Counselling has an agreement with an organisation called 'Counselling' regarding our students applying for their Professional Membership and register of Practitioners. 'Counselling' is a rapidly expanding professional membership organisation for counsellors and psychotherapists in the British Isles. It has almost 2,500 affiliated CCC Registered Counsellors. The agreement is that British Isles students who have successfully completed an Institute of Counselling Diploma level course may apply for their professional membership and counsellor registration. Membership and registration is subject to application. The organisation has a Register of Practitioners in the British Isles that is available to the public. CCC Registered Counsellors are entitled to use CCC Reg after their name.
